How do I know if I am at risk?

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font

Everyone has some risk of developing skin cancer, which can be made worse with a lifetime of unprotected sun exposure and genetically light skin tone. For most people, a severe burn before 18 years of age almost doubles your risk of developing skin cancer and premature aging, which is why it is critical to protect children's delicate skin.

You should speak to our dermatologist immediately if you have skin lesion that appears suddenly, or has assymmetrical appearance, darker edges than the centre, changes colour or becomes larger than 0.25 inch or 6mm. A few days can make the difference between successful removal and long-term illness.
